Annika Connor describes herself as a contemporary romantic artist and modern-day
Renaissance Woman integrating and promoting her artistic vision in a wide field
of interests and activities. She is primarily known for her watercolor and oil paintings
in which she uses strong symbolism and passionate imaginings to explore the
feminine aesthetic and the range in which beauty can ignite
imagination. Her tools are precision, detail, and allegory, used as hooks
to lure the viewer's eye while showcasing an imagery that sparks often-mysterious narratives.
She is a vocal advocate for Gender
Equality, using her paintings to explore topics ranging from the political, to beauty
and nature, while portraying issues of female identity.
As an art activist, Connor is heavily
involved in sustaining the art community in which she creates. She is the
Owner/President of Active Ideas Productions, an organization with
the mission to serve the artistic community by facilitating the presence and
publication of young talented artists and exposing their works to the public.
Her own works and those of the artists she sponsors are showcased in in her
book, Point Suite Contemporary Art, available on Amazon. She is
also a SAG/AFTRA member and screenwriter, an additional skill used to convey
her artistic vision.
Connor owns Annika’s Art Shop, an online boutique for creative clothing, accessories, homeware, and gifts featuring the art of Annika Connor. All the items in the Shop are made in the USA and Canada and produced with ethical manufacturing.
